Richard A. Ramler was re-appointed Belgrade City Attorney for a three year term from July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2003. Mr. Ramler hired Jon Hesse of Livingston, MT to prosecute all criminal misdemeanor violations in the City.

• The City Attorney is required to attend all regularly scheduled meetings of the Belgrade City Council;
  
  
• Assist all City employees, including the City Clerk/Treasurer and the City Manager in connection with routine matters for which consultation is required;
  
  
• Assist and provide legal counsel to the Board of Adjustment and City County Planning Board;
  
  
• Provide necessary services in connection with the creation of Special Improvement Districts;
  
  
• Prepare loan agreements and all ancillary documents made to third parties under the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG);
  
  
• Prosecute or have cases prosecuted by a third party before the City Judge of the City of Belgrade
